SYCAMORE – An error identified by the Illinois State Board of Elections reported that DeKalb County mail-in ballots were incorrectly counted twice after Nov. 8, and updated results show a Republican incumbent will retain her county board seat after all.The error was reported Wednesday for election results posted for DeKalb County, according to DeKalb County Clerk and Recorder Douglas Johnson. Wednesday was Johnson's, a Republican, last day in office after he chose not to seek reelection. The tabulation error was reported for mail-in ballots only, Johnson's office said, and reportedly didn't impact any other area of election results.
